Assistance for Interpretation and/or Translation
|
 | Purpose: To promote a higher level of service in both official languages and equal participation of the two official language communities at important public meetings. Assistance may cover part of the costs related to the following:
Interpretation Services:
Interpretation services including oral and sign-language interpretation, are eligible when required for an important public meeting held in Canada (such as a conference, symposium or annual meeting).
Translation Services:
- an organization's basic documents such as the charter, constitution or leaflets describing an organization's goals and objectives
- administration documents and promotional material related to an important meeting
- training manuals, research reports and videos
- translation of an organization's bulletin is eligible for a one-year period only (start up assistance)

 | Eligibility: All Canadian non-profit organizations operating on an international, national or regional level are eligible. Such organizations must include members of both official language communities and have a permanent secretariat. Note: Government and para-governmental organizations, educational and health institutions, are not eligible.

 | Type of Assistance: Up to 50 per cent of eligible costs are funded, for a maximum of $5 000 for national or regional activities, and $10,000 for international activities.
