Manitoba Culture, Heritage and Tourism

Arts Development Project Support Program


Purpose:
To assist Manitoba nonprofit community-based organizations to undertake initiatives in audience development or arts skills development in the performing, exhibiting or literary arts.

Eligibility:
Applications must be submitted by nonprofit community-based organizations in Manitoba. (Groups not eligible under this program include professional arts organizations and organizations eligible for assistance from the Multicultural Grants Advisory Council.)

Criteria:
These programs are not intended to duplicate assistance provided by other provincial departments and agencies.
  • Exist for a minimum of one year
  • Possess verifiable financial records for a minimum of one year, including an annual financial statement
  • Sustain a regular program of arts activity with clearly defined goals and objectives

Type of Assistance:
Subject to the Department's review of the application and available funds. The level of assistance depends upon the location of the project.

Maximum Grant
      Winnipeg-based projects
$ 750.00
      Southern Manitoba (except Winnipeg)
$1 000.00
      Northern Manitoba - accessible by road
$1 250.00
      Northern Manitoba - accessible only by air
$2 500.00

Total grants to an organization in any fiscal year (April 1 to March 31) will not exceed the following maximums:

Annual Maximum
      Winnipeg-based projects
$1 500.00
      Southern Manitoba (except Winnipeg)
$2 000.00
      Northern Manitoba - accessible by road
$2 500.00
      Northern Manitoba - accessible only by air
$5 000.00

· Arts Skill Development Projects
· Remote Arts Projects

Grants are paid after the project takes place. Grant recipients must submit an evaluation report, including a signed project financial statement and verifying documents, within 60 days following completion of the project.
